so continues the sad tales of america’s favorite down-on-their-luck family. you might even call this the “death of a salesman”! i realize that wasn’t subtle at all…
anyways in keeping with the tradition of the last shark comic, there are no jokes to be found here – just pure, unfiltered drama. you can just feel the drama.
i found the news today that one of my favorite shows, 24, may be ending after this season. it’s on the eighth year of the show, and kinda is repeating the same formula… only kinda more stale (jack bauer doesn’t want to fight terrorism anymore, someone contacts jack bauer and brings him back into the fold, terrorists have a nuclear weapon, jack bauer gets tortured, etc). and don’t get me wrong – this has always worked for the show, but this year it’s so far just kinda goin through the motions. i read that after the series ends, they’re gonna do a movie to close the whole thing out. im totally cool with that. its time for the show to end, i think.
BUT
also ending this year is potentially the best show (ever), “lost”. i cannot stress just how good this show is. but you’ve heard all about Lost, i’m sure. anyone who loves Lost just can’t stop talking about it. if you dont watch the show, its probably kinda annoying. “can you BELIEVE the numbers were on the lighthouse and they are jacob’s replacement?? how crazy!!” it’s real nonsense to anyone who doesn’t watch. it’s serious science fiction stuff. like, even something like star trek is kinda understandable to non-fans. its all spaceships and aliens and phasers. easily understandable stuff. lost has smoke monsters and time travel and immortal dudes. and yet…. it doesnt really seem science fiction-ish when you watch it. which is why every fan thinks they have license to discuss it in public with non-nerd friends. sorry, everyone!
but seriously, this show has been my favorite since it premiered half a decade ago. there are only like 9 episodes left in the entire series, which is hard for me to grasp. it IS a good thing… alot of my other favorite shows have stuck around too long and became terrible (heroes, prison break)… but i will miss the folk running around in the jungle avoiding polar bears and smoke monsters. oh well!
(we will all miss this classic TV character.)
monday will bring an actual blog post, with like, jokes n stuff!
