i watched a delightful programme on the telecommunication box today featuring two sporting clubs playing the action packed game of “foot ball”. if you haven’t heard, this “super bowl” is a sixty minute escapade, played on turf in front of (perhaps) thousands of spectators. the winner gets to hold up the winner’s trophy, and (of course) gets to soak in the glory of being the #1 foot ball club in the nation! ill stop this now

a great superbowl today. while our hometown boys “the new york jets” were not in attendance, really pretty exciting to see new orleans take it. note to self though: do not follow every near jerk reaction. i came up behind a table of indianapolis colts fans (all wearing peyton manning jerseys) during the fourth quarter and, thinking i was out of earshot, said “manning’s gonna choke” to a friend of mine. the table turned and three seperate people flipped me off. sensitive!

i used to work at a radio station and had to pretend i liked the small town hockey team when on air. pretending to care that they won a game, or pretending to get hyped up about an upcoming one. didn’t really enjoy doing that, but i did enjoy pretending to rub in victories to opposing small town hockey teams. on air, i would call into their voicemails late at night and leave abusive messages making fun of them. there really isn’t a sadder person than a sports fan the night their team loses the big (or any) game. and of course, the biggest game is the super bowl, so the saddest people in the world right now are indianapolis colts fans.

in the spirit of sportsmanship, i sent this abusive email to the colts. instead of sending it to the main office, where there is surely enough bad spirits going around for everyone, i decided to send it to “marketing/sales department”, where there might be a few non-colts fans working who don’t get enough of the abuse laid on to the general managers or coaches.

dear colts marketing sales department :

not the team, i mean i like peyton manning and the team’s a very talented group.

i just think your marketing campaign is a big gimmick and youre a bunch of talentless hacks. go back to community college, you no talent no heart weasels.
